(May 5, 2023) – Founder & CEO of Change & Impact, Inc., Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, is returning to Ohio to host a special bowling event for Cincinnati’s stuttering community. The Change & Impact Bowling Blast sponsored by Prasco will bring together the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Allied Health Sciences, children and teens who stutter, and speech-language pathologists to celebrate stuttering during an exciting evening of glow bowling. The Change & Impact Bowling Blast will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Stone Lanes Bowling Alley located at 3748 Montgomery Road, Norwood, OH 45212.
Change & Impact and the UC College of Allied Health Sciences joined together on this special bowling event as an extension of UC’s stuttering initiative, “Fluency Friday.” Held in the fall, Fluency Friday is a one-day workshop where students who stutter and their parents/caregivers partake in individual and group therapy sessions, listen to panels on stuttering, participate in Q&A’s, and enjoy quality time getting to know one another. Programming is led by licensed speech-language pathologists with the assistance of graduate clinicians from UC. Fluency Friday is a collaborative community effort between Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, the University of Cincinnati, and Hamilton County Educational Service Center.

In March 2023, Kidd-Gilchrist hosted the first ever Change & Impact Career Fair in Cincinnati with OhioMeansJobs. Adult job seekers from the stuttering community met more than a dozen companies to interview for jobs at all levels. Sensitivity training on communicating with individuals who stutter was also provided for participating companies through a workshop led by a board-certified speech-language pathologist.
