Inaugural Bowling Fundraiser Presented by The Kentucky Roadshow & RoadshowCards.com Brings a Wildcat Back Home
(November 23, 2022) The Inaugural Bowling Fundraiser for Change & Impact Inc. brings its Founder, CEO, and a former Kentucky Wildcat basketball player back to the heart of Big Blue Nation. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, leading advocate for the stuttering community, will host his first ever fundraiser to further the Change & Impact mission of making speech therapy services for children who stutter more easily accessible. The event will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the LexLive Entertainment Destination, located at 301 S Broadway, Lexington, KY, 40508.
In 2020 when spending time in the NBA ‘bubble’ during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kidd-Gilchrist began reflecting on his own stutter while learning more about all the barriers the stuttering community faces. He considered how to turn his knowledge and experience into actionable and meaningful ways to educate, advocate and raise awareness about stuttering. In 2021, Kidd-Gilchrist founded his non-profit organization, Change & Impact, Inc. The mission is clear: to improve access to healthcare and expand services and resources for those who stutter.
Change & Impact’s fundraising event is bringing together corporate and individual sponsors to bowl and boost awareness for stuttering. Children, teens, and adults who stutter from the Kentucky community will also join Kidd-Gilchrist for a fun evening of bowling. Proceeds support the Change & Impact Building Opportunities campaign that includes stuttering intervention research, providing speech therapy services for children, and community outreach initiatives to empower those who stutter.
Media availability goes from 6:00 to 7pm on-site at LexLive. Garage parking is located at 317 S. Broadway in Lexington. Parking validation will be provided. Please contact Kristen Peifer for credentials.
