Inaugural Change & Impact Bowling Fundraiser

Presented by Jimmy's Kentucky Roadshow

The Inaugural Change & Impact Bowling Fundraiser brought its Founder, CEO, and former Kentucky Wildcat Men’s Basketball Champion back to the heart of Big Blue Nation. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (MKG), leading advocate for the stuttering community, hosted his first fundraiser to further the Change & Impact mission of making speech therapy services for children who stutter more easily accessible.

In 2020 when spending time in the NBA ‘bubble’ during the COVID-19 pandemic, MKG began reflecting on his own stutter while learning more about all the barriers the stuttering community faces.  He considered how to turn his knowledge and experience into actionable and meaningful ways to educate, advocate and raise awareness about stuttering. In 2021, Kidd-Gilchrist founded his non-profit organization, Change & Impact, Inc. The mission is clear: to improve access to healthcare and expand services and resources for those who stutter.

Change & Impact’s Inaugural Bowling Fundraiser brought together corporate and individual sponsors to bowl and boost awareness for stuttering. Children, teens, and adults who stutter from the Kentucky community also joined MKG for a fun evening of bowling. Event proceeds support the Change & Impact Building Opportunities Campaign
